What if I can't put an outlet behind every Note?
You can still power the array. Some walls can't take new outlets, like an exterior wall filled with spray foam, a finished stone surface or a rented space. In those cases the cords travel a little farther to reach power.
Talk through the options below with your electrician before installation day.
Option 1: Use longer cords from a nearby outlet
Each Note ships with a 19.7 in (0.5 m) cord, sized for an outlet directly behind it. If your outlet sits below the array, we sell an 8 ft (2.5 m) cord in black and white at vestaboard.com/cords.
Option 2: Concealed power distribution
A power distribution unit (PDU) can consolidate the power connections for multiple Notes. Have your electrician select equipment suitable for the installation location and the full array’s electrical load.
Option 3: Bring power in from somewhere else
An adjacent interior wall, the ceiling or the space under a counter may be easier to wire than the wall the array hangs on. Your electrician will know what the building allows.
Whichever you choose
- Keep plugs, cords and slack fully behind the Notes.
- Use permanent wiring or a listed power distribution unit rather than extension cords.
- All electrical work should be done by a licensed electrician following local codes.
